So you own a wonderful espresso machine but feel a little lost? Making espresso and lattes at home can be a bit daunting, but with a little practice and some guidance, you'll be feeling much more confident! Perhaps you've bought an espresso machine recently and want to shortcut the learning process? Or maybe you've had your espresso machine for a while now, but still feel that you're not getting the most out of it? In this workshop I will demystify espresso making and give you a framework to get you making some delicious coffee! In this hands-on workshop we will be pulling shots, steaming milk and tasting the results, so you know what to look for when you carry on the good work at home. The workshop duration is two hours and priced at $75. It includes all the coffee and milk (whole and oat) you need to experiment extensively and is limited to six participants so you get the hands-on attention you need. During the session you will be able to brew coffee using our grinders and espresso machine, but if you have a small home machine that you would like to bring along, then you're very welcome to do so! I will provide resource materials and course notes so that during the session we can really make the most of the time experimenting together and brewing coffee. This will not be a two hour lecture on the history of the espresso machine or the science of coffee extraction! This session is taught by Mike Bawden who has twenty years’ experience in course design and teaching. It will be relaxed and fun and you'll leave equipped with new skills and knowledge and maybe even new coffee buddies. Some prior experience making espresso at home is desirable. The course is aimed at everyone from beginners to intermediate users. If you have more experience and are looking for advancing your espresso skills further, you could also consider booking a two hour individual "one-to-one bespoke coffee course".
